Roll Bending Process

Roll bending is a specialized sheet metal forming technique used to create curved shapes
such as arcs, cylinders, and full circular sections. Unlike other bending methods that rely
on a single press stroke, roll bending uses a machine equipped with three heavy-duty
cylindrical rollers arranged in a triangular configuration. These rollers gradually apply
controlled pressure to the metal sheet as it passes through them.

During the process, the sheet is fed between the rollers, where the position and pressure
of the top or side roller can be adjusted to achieve the desired curvature. By carefully
controlling the spacing and movement of the rollers, the material is progressively bent
without causing cracks or deformation. This gradual forming method ensures smooth,
consistent curves and is ideal for producing large-diameter pipes, tanks, cones, and
structural components.

Roll bending is widely used in industries such as fabrication, construction, heavy
engineering, and manufacturing, where precise curved metal components are required
with high structural strength and dimensional accuracy.
